I LOVE the lighting and color pallette!! Perfect effect of the dark Dutch still lifes. That said I think the horizontal cracking effect is a bit too much. The problem with that filter is that it's a little too regular to look completely natural. It'd be nice if the effect could be rendered in certain places on the image but not on others, and/or selectively faded in certain places. I don't know if PS can do that. Probably some PS guru would know a way, but that's not me! Anyway, this is just my own taste, take it for what it's worth.
Fantastic work here again Ina, you are a wonder!
Very best, Mark

Thanks very much Gabriela, I'm glad you like my fake paintings :) It's certainly faster to do them this way than to actually paint them, and they cost nothing, and don't take up any room. I may one day sit down and actually paint one of these, but meanwhile PS is more rewarding & faster! I'm enjoying the post-processing, as I learn it. Best regards, Ina

Great idea Petal, printing on a canvas texture would do the trick, especially under glass :) Thanks for your visit & comment, Greetings, Ina

Superb dear Ina. Your postwork on what is a great still life has indeed created the illusion of an old painting. The textures and colours are stunning. The lighting in this one is it's strength, I love it. This, to me, is the way an artist would 'light up' his still life. Stunning shot and a great addition to this series. Very best wishes to you my dear......Ray

Well, Ina, you'll have me Wow-ing and Ohhh-ing at all your still lifes! This crop is fantastic, the light, colours, composition, all remind me of what I saw every time I tried getting closer to an old painting, same texture.Taken unawares, without previous explanations, I wonder HOW MANY people would say that THIS is a PHOTO (???????)Unless we refer it to experts.I am very much impressed with this part of your work and I am glad it is finally taking shape. Love from Gabriela

Fabulous... it looks like a detail/close-up shot from an old painting.... well done!!! The objects 'fit' as well... if you'd print it on canvas, frame it with an old oak frame... presto an original I.N. ;-D!!

Ina, an outstanding composition, still life is a real challenge but you have created a nice shot, achieved a degree of that lovely old masters feel and the fruit is not 'dead', good work, liked it a lot. cheers, david.

Hi Eb, Thanks for your visit and insightful comments :) I'm experimenting as you see with different style still lifes, and went to the opposite end of the spectrum, from high resolution photo to low light and much texture. I'll find a happy medium somewhere, and that's where your input and other people's feedback is important.
I will be off for a few days, and my presence will be spotty on UF, also I'll try to keep my "thank you notes" to a minimum, unless I have something to reply or to add to a comment, such as this one. I hope you won't mind from now on if I won't be sending you multiple "thanks" - I mean it anyway. This will allow me to have more time to visit! Of course, I'll always reply to questions and suggestions, so thanks again for your constructive thoughts, and best regards - Ina

The texture look effective to me. I like the knife tones but would prefer the highlighted rim in the right lower half to be a bit subdued. Great mood is elicited by your treatment, Ina. Eb

Hi Rina, thanks very much - I'm not commissioned, I wish! It's a personal study :) I'll be off for a week, possibly only for a few days, and if you don't hear from me, have a great week! See you soon, and thanks for your support! Hugs, Ina

Nice work Ina. The texture appears fresco. Well to me anyway, looks like it's been painted on a wall. I think you've handled all the still lifes in this series remarkably well. Is this a personal study, or one you've been commissioned to undertake?
