A Japenese Iris sounds good to me.
Good job with those two strobes.

Gorgeous colors Don,
Lori :)

Can't help you with the ID of this one. I really like the saturated colours here, something you don't usually do. They are well contained into a beautfiul graphic format, and the exposure is perfect, as is the DOF.

Beautiful shot Don. I love these colors. I think this would make such a great greeting card. Just lovely!

Wonderful floral Don!! Gorgeous colors, love the narrow crop and the horizontal placement of the Iris (Japanese or other, it's beautiful... ;-D) is excellent... great details and DOF... well captured!!

Good work, Don. I have a fine tripod, but I'm very lazy about using it. Obviously, I've got to rethink my discipline. ;-)

Hi George, I shoot most everything with a tripod like this as focus is so critical that I even put the camera on manual focus so I can pick the right point of focus. I used the high shutter speed to make the background black as it was blue in reality. Just keep the light off it. Thanks for the great comments. Don.

All I know is that it is a really beautiful photo. The lighting is superb and the small aperture has provided excellent dof and great textures and colors. Wonderful composition as well. I assume you used a tripod, but the shutter speed indicates it could have been handheld. No matter, it is a winner!

Best wishes,
--George
