About Here is a picture of a dandelion. I was just telling my mother that I hadn't seen any of thes pesky plants since moving to S California. I remember weeding dandelions from our gardens all the time. Never realized how beautiful they could be.

Thanks for the info Kelly. There is so darn much to learn about these things called cameras and lenses. It sure is fascinating though! Once again, I love this shot!

This is a fun lens to play around with. Of course with the 50mm you have to be right on top of your subject. The DOF is quite small as with all macro lenses, so that is quite a hardship to master. This is not a true 1:1 macro. It is a 1:25 I like it because you can also use it as a regular 50mm lens and shoot regular shots with it also. I just got the extention tube that is made for this lens Saturday. This makes it a true 1:1 image size. The only thing bad is you must use a tripod to get any picture. Any movement at all will blurr your picture. I took probably 100 pictures and only 4 turned out. Hence the use of the tripod. The 50 macro with out the extension tube is fine to use with out a tripod as it is lighter. Hope this will help in your decision about this lens. Take care. Kelly

What a pretty shot Kelly. This is gorgeous with the dof and b/g colors. How do you like that lens? We have the same camera and I'd like to get a macro lens that is a fixed length. It sure worked well here. )

Wonderfully detailed with beautiful soft colours my dear Kelly. I always think of the flower bearing weeds as wild flowers because there is much beauty in them as Kathy says..Well done to you sweetie. Best wishes as always....Ray

Excellent macro of a dandelion Kelly, and great entry into the Patterns in Nature project! I've seen many of these before, but this one is one of a kind because of the clarity and mainly the composition. I like the way the pattern turns from top view to side view, and the soft edges fading away, as well as the limited colors and abstract nature of the shot. Well done, Kelly! See you on the FP with this one! Ina

What a great entry for the project, Kelly! You're right about the beauty of weeds....we forget because we dislike them so much, but they really can be beautiful! This is a very good macro!
