Great (bi-focal?!) perspective created by divergent roads and the wheels that seem cutting their way to the other road. I'd call it "Short-cut"!!
Very nice picture. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mark, and thanks! Actually in the original shot the post goes into the ground, and there is even a nice shadow of the first wheel, which got cropped for the panoramic format :)

Absolutely gorgeous. I'd try another shot with the base of the nearest post showing how it goes into the ground. Lovely pano format.

Hello Hugo and thank you so much for your comment! I have another version as you said, with one road only and the fence post off to the extreme, I thought this one had more symbolic value, two roads leading in two directions - actually the other one had a boot on top of the fence. Also, you said "Next best thing would've been an old, rusty dodge pick up truck" - well, there you have it!!!! Only this (actually two of them) were found yesterday in Ontario - on a nearby farm, and they are not Dodge, but Studebakers :) My best regards, Ina

Hi Ina, I can hear John Cougar Mellencamp through this shot. Next best thing would've been an old, rusty dodge pick up truck. The two roads confuse me a bit, making my eyes shift from the left to right, with the right one as dominant one, due to the diagonal created by the fence. Yet the balance in the composition is slightly shifted to the left of the image. Great tone and details, though. Very cool shot. Another (monor) thing is that I think choosing a slightly lower POV would've emphasised the feel of depth in this photo just a tad more. Not sure if that fits with your intentions, though. Wouldn't dare tampering with your ideas...:)
Cheers,
Hugo

Thanks for your nice words Bill, I can't remember where exactly this was taken, it was on my way back from Yellowstone, I think, so it's somewhere between Yellowstone and Casper, WY on Hwy 25S, it was on the edge of a farm. I don't have an exact location :-( Best regards, Ina

Thanks very much Susie :) I'm very happy you like it! I had to crop a really nice shadow of the front wheel, to fit it into this format. I'm going to start a new series from Yellowstone next, I'm starting to spend more time in PS than I do outdoors :)

Thanks very much Kathy, I would have liked to add more "aging" but I don't have the filter that does film scratches and stains. Maybe one of these days I'll buy it... Too many things on my wish list...

Thanks very much Mohamed, the circles are old wagon wheels, used as a decorative fence, this was the border of a farm, there are many fences like that - these were a bit different because they were made of metal and rusted :) Best regards, Ina

Oh you take the low road and I'll take the high road and....who knows where we'll end up. :)
I love the wagon wheels dividing the roads. Very nice composition Ina and lovely tones for this scene. Have watched many a John Wayne movie and as others here have stated it brings to mind a western movie. I love roads shots. This is great.

Dear Ina, I have been watching on Gabriela's computer all the latest posts with the Flaming Gorge and the Highway and this shot, too. Of course in panoramic. I was deeply impressed by your creativity, you never stop amaxzing me. Thank you for the message on my birthday shot and for so kindly visiting all my postings. I am really grateful for your attention. YT

Thank you very much Brian :) I had the same thoughts, about choices in life, which road to take, left or right, leading into the unknown. Thanks for looking at the large version I also thought the wire was interesting, and the very rough arrid terrain. Best regards, Ina

I like how the two roads are seen branching off in opposite directions, much like choices in life, off into the horizon. The wagon wheels and the fence certainly brings out the feeling of the Old West. The photograph when enlarged is so full of interesting items. The wire wrapped around the old textured fence post . Perspective running along the fence row is a nice view along with all the dried grass. Favourite.

One of your visitors said it so very well: it looks like the scene in a western movie and panoramic! Just waiting for a pack of cowboys to come riding on one of those dusty roads and meet a pack of red Indians just entering the scene on the other road.Extremely scenic! I like it a lot! Gabriela
