hello paul, I.R filtering will give various results depending on lense and camera capability .you will have to try diiferent exposures and apertures to get a variety of IR results.the one above was shot in b.w .,in an ideal situation you will require lots of sunlight ,the results you get will be noticably different from winter to summer.might be worth a look in the Infrared section of this sight to see the different results that can be achieved.It certainly helps to have a good program like PS/CS2 or Paintshop Pro etc.using the desaturing function can give you a quick result.

amazing composition and lines. your photo is really beauiful so i thought i might aswell ask you this since you took such a good photo. i have a dslr camera (pentax ist DL) and in order to take infrared photos, do i simply apply a infrared filter and click to get those effects?
