Hi Pat, I think the best time to visit is in April, all the birds are there and they're busy busy busy! There's so much to see and photograph at Lake Martin almost any time in the spring, come on down!! We'd love to have you (maybe next year.) Hopefully we'll make it there in May and we can talk about it then! Hope all is well there, things are good here. Krystal is doing really well, she started night school for medical assistant! She is such a go getter, we've been busy with Mason, basketball games and now his team is in the playoffs so we're traveling to the games every night! It's wonderful but I've really gotten behind on my UF commenting, but I'll catch up soon! Take care my friend, see ya'll in May! Darlene

Ahh yes...the gatorbird species. ;)

A very threatening image of this seemingly still gator Darlene. He looks like he's ready to pounce on something. The details are wonderful. I love the movement in the water and the colours are super. The reflection of the eye in the water is amazing. A slightly blood curdling and excellent image.

Cheers - Ann :)

That's a mean looking character!
I can't seem to figure out how that reflection of his eye on the left got there?

I keep forgetting that you have to dodge these fellas Darlene...do you get many in your vicinity when you are shooting?? I was pleased to note that you were nearly 900mm of lens away from this fiercesome looking creature. Great capture sweetie. Best wishes...Ray

Wonderful capture! Very sharp in the eyes and the reflection of his right eye in the water is amazing. I think the 600mm with the 1.4TC is a good idea when working with models like this ;-)
Regards, Dwight
