I don't normally like frames, and don't use even minimalist frames on my own photos, but this seems to be using the frame as part of the picture, emphasizing the geometrical shape. Interesting idea. I'll have to think about that. I like the trace of smoke/steam from the chimeny. That sky would have been hard to take without it. Very nice abstract!

Hi Hugo I do love reading your comments...they are so astute and observant. In this case you have come to exactly the same conclusion which was the purpose of posting the shot...well done, my friend. I wanted a graphic almost cartoon-like end result which I think was aided by the thick black border which bleeds into only part of the shot.
Once again, Hugo, many thanks. It will be great to hear your comments on another couple of shots from this series that I hope to post over the next few days.

Hi Manu, I really like the almost trimetic coangle at this building. I thinkk there are two things that primarily catch the eye, and break the rather hard, rough geometrical pattern. First is the whiff of smoke coming from the chimney, and secondly, perhaps even stronger, is the shadow of the rail... A brilliant touch. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the blackend out shadows, blending in with the frame. No texture of the walls left, which IMO flattens the geometrical, 3D shape a bit. On the other hand, the fact that the shadows blend in with the frame does add to the graphic quailty of this shot. It's nice. Very nice, Good work, Manu!
Cheers,
Hugo

Great abstract. I love the contrast, lines, viewpoint.
The only thing i wish that wasn't there is the smoke / steam coming from that exhaust ....... or is it a cloud..... Everything about the image for me is straight lines and hard edges and that doesn't fit.
Well done Mark
