Hi Darlene, I just came across this. It's the image I was talking about.

This looks like the same type of bird. Right? Andre

Hi Darlene, I think I made a mistake this morning when I said this was a Vireo. Someone posted a beautiful image of a Wren a little later on that looks exactly like this little guy. I can't find that image now. I only remember that the person who posted it's first name was Peter. Anyway, Vireos and Wrens both have the strip running across their face like that, but the shape of the Wren's beak is exactly like the one in your shot. Andre

Hi Darlene, You sure got this one at the right time. Great little capture. I think Shirley is right when she says it is some kind of Vireo. The little white bar on his head is the give away. Not 100% sure but it could be a Black Whiskered Vireo. The guide show them coming from Florida, but I'm sure some might have made the trip to Louisianna. It could be another type though. Close enough for me :) Andre

Hi Darlene, don't have those birdies in South Africa..... looks like a Vireo to me (have a North America Field guide). Would love confirmation on what it is if someone does know. Great great capture - well spotted and taken. Regards Shirley
