Ah, the Yarra can turn it on sometimes, can't it? I would say it's maybe a little oversharpened (touche, hehe) for my tastes, but its a great photo. Makes me homesick.

Well my sister was at University at the time and I guess they had some sort of program going where students could teach overseas. I lived in Portland for a year when I was 16 - so a few years later when the opportunity came up for my sister she chose Washington knowing she could also catch up with my friends in Portland :) We have both been back 3 or 4 times over the years, its a beautiful area :)

It certainly is a small world, Peta! My Dad was born in Custer! How in the world does someone get from Australia to Custer? Thanks for sharing that info!

People often dont have the best things to say about the 18-55 EFS, but its been great for me. I do a little sharpening in PS, but its not always needed. I also always use MF - that helps too.

Hi Peta,
wonderful architectural reflection shot. The wide screen format fits the subject very well. great detail and levels. I would probably think about adding a light frame.

Oh yeah this works great as a pano and you have to love it even more now that the pano expand link works. Beautiful shot Peta. I haven't been to Melbourne for years.
I'm not sure if I ever replied to your question about where in OZ I'm from (sorry - 2 minute memory that was jogged when I saw this image) I was born and raised in Sydney but my home base has been the Gold Coast for the last 20 years. Now living in the states for the last 6 years. Still have my house on the GC.
Anyway the clarity and detail is excellent in this shot. I use the same lens a lot but my images never seem to look this sharp. I tried to blame it on the lens but I guess it must be me. haha - oops
