Hi Peta,
I think you did very good indeed; getting really close makes this floral abstracts very eye catching. By turning this into monochrome, also adds a bit more to the impact.
The focus and the sharoness are great.

Wow Peta! This is great! I love the scale. The DOF is wonderful, with the black void at the bottom from the flower's heart.. beautiful image!
..and way to make me miss visiting the Sunshine Coast! ..and the fire ants.. I'll tell ya, what we need now, are macro's of Morton Bay Bugs!

Extremely crisp images, I had to click on this macro since the DOF is a little bit more refined than some of the other floral shots, and I am a sucker for super macro shots.
The pistel and stamen shot is somewhat comment, but I like the fact that you put it on a diagonal and tried to show the 3D recession into space.
I really like the crisp points on the end.
I like the portfolio, a lot of shots cropped short to essenial minimum language, and a refined crispness.

Fantastic composition! I love the way the structure extends from the darkness in the center of the flower to the darkness of the background, and of course the B&W really makes this stand out.

I love the ultra-narrow DoF on this one! The high contrast between the sharp and soft is even more apperent than between light and dark. Excelent composition and lighting!
