Spiders and webs are difficult to capture well. You did a wonderful job.
To me it looks like a 'Black and Yellow Garden Spider'. The configuration of the web looks similar to the description also. Check out this link.

Excellent capture Paul. Looks like he was busy reinforcing that section of his web. When I googled "spiders with yellow dots on their back" seems this is a type of garden spider. Many different varieties. Check it out.
