| 57 Raw Materials |
|
This is a tricky project that may require some thought. Photographs of items that are used to make other items. As an example, concrete, steel, glass, wood are typical raw materials that go into contruction of a building. Flour, eggs, butter, sugar are the raw materials for a cake. Everything is made from something else so lets see some interesting views of these common and often overlooked raw materials. This should be a fun project, so put your imagination to work and show off these raw materials in their best light. |

A project for the mind as well as the eye. In todays world we are continually bombarded by print and video images of violence, mayhem and chaos. This project is meant to show the opposite and give the viewer a feeling of peace and tranquility. You will have to think on this one and see how you feel while looking at the image. Does the image bring you to that special place where your mind can wander and forget about the problems that surround you. Do you get lost in the image? Does the image make your blood pressure go down? This should be an interesting project, we hope you will all enjoy it. |

One of the easiest and hardest things to photograph is glass. This can include glassware, sheet glass, colored glass, glasses, you name it, if it is made of glass then take a picture of it and post it here. Go for the abstract, go for the uncommon view of a common item, most of all use your imagination and have some fun. |

If you don't know his work as a portrait photographer of the famous, the infamous, the powerful and the artists of his generation, you know of the work of the literally hundreds if not thousands of photographers it inspired. He was a stong advocate of the power of photography and for photographers retaining the ownership of the copyright of their work.
This project is to emulate Arnold Newman's style of photography if you can. Check out various sites on the web to view his style.
