About: I am a veterinarian, originally from Costa Rica, currently living in Santa Clara, California since 1996. After all these years, I am still and always will be captivated by the natural beauty of this Golden State.
In 2003, while working with The Nature Conservancy in Costa Rica, my close encounters with nature were responsible for a sudden powerful interest in photography. We were passionately seeking to protect the jewels of nature, and I wanted to share that with my family and friends. I found that one of the best ways to do it was through images.
Back then, I was using the DSC P70, 3.2 Mp camera from Sony that my wife gave me. Since then, my love for the art (and equipment) of photography has evolved, and I have found that it has improved my quality of life tremendously. Thanks to this hobby, I see the world with different eyes.
When I invested in the Canon Rebel D 300, I was very pleased, but I wanted to improve the quality of my images even further.
Four years ago while taking pictures; fortune brought me into the path of wildlife photographer Marcus Armani. Since them, I have learned a tremendous amount from Marcus and many other members of this forum.
At that time, I purchased the 20D camera and the 100-400 mm lens. Then 3 years ago, my buddy Marcus Armani sold me the 400 mm DO F/4 and I still very happy with that acquisition and I hope you will enjoy viewing my pictures as much as I enjoy taking them.
In my gallery you'll find over 350 bird species, however I am interested in other groups, such as reptiles, amphibians and mammals.
With your advice and comments I hope to improve my skills and share with you the images and joy that nature shares with me everyday.
