Hello Joe,

Sharp view you have. It is indeed a composite of 2 images. I know this island, so what kind of possibilities it offeres. I thought before our trip about the view I wanted to compose and how to do this. Thanks for your comment. I added another example that I also like.

Greetz,
Albert

Hello J Hatz,

Thanks for your comment. Well seen, hou have a sharp view. The light is indeed from a different angle. It's a composite of 2 images. One of the bird shot in the morming at close range at the ferryboat. The background was shot in the evening when the sun was starting to go down.
Thanks for your advice.

Greetz,
Albert

Is this a composite image?

CC photo. So I'd say that I do think the clouds are fine, though. Whatever noise would be difficult to see even in print, and the white areas are just bright enough, and no more than that. But it's just the backdrop for the bird, of course. And the exposure on the bird is just right, and the details are very interesting, as well.

SUPERB idea dear Albert. Strong background and nice gull. One problem for me... the lighting. I think the lighting on the gull is from a different angle than the lighting into the background and that makes the gull not composed at the best way into the image.
The work you did at the outline of the gull is pretty nice.
The other point here is at the clouds, a bit grainy...ok I know, different and surely small resolution. A bit work with a blent tool (blent tool on Corel Photo Paint, I don't know its name on photoshop) could help at the darker areas of the clouds.
The bottom half area of the background is absolutely perfect.
Very good try, 6/7
regards

I want to reiterate Mary Browns words, as if the bird is coming out of monitor and to me, what a nice POV with great details and mood. I certainly like this one very much, and it reminds me of another pic by Marcus Armani.

The details and the bird's textures are wonderful. It seems that he could fly right through my monitor to me. The tones of the sky and water are lovely. This looks like a grand place. Great picture.

Hello all you friendly people,

Thanks very much for your stimulating comments.
I am glad, you liked it.
Since some time I spend quite a lot of my free time in excercising to improve technicall skills and to get a wider range of possibilities.
Although I see a lot of points still to improve, I am satisfied about this one. Things can always be improved. Part of the art is to enjoy with your heart and senses the moment, besides reflecting about the future, n'est pas :).

Greetz, I wish you and yours all the best,
Albert

Beautiful shot. Looks like the gull is coming straight at you and the background is threatening and dramatic. (Oops, looks like I got that wrong - you've posted this under Peace & Tranquility!)
