Hiya Megan I love the composition of this - straight horizon line or no straight horizon line. Some rules are made to be broken. From one photographer to another, some of the best pics on this site defy rules. Go with it, enjoy taking photographs and don't get caught up in the "how tos" - it may cramp your style and that would be sad. I know your teacher means well, but tell her to chill, from what I hear, she doesn't do any of the 'teaching' anyway!!! Love your work...!

I have enjoyed looking through your portfolio, you have a great foundation and I can't wait to see more of your work.
I like that the effectst that you have chosen seem to hilight the lines of the piece. This really allows your eyes to easily focus on the great perspective.
Nice capture.

Nicely done, Megan. It looks like a lunar landscape with dock. The background is such a pure black that I feel like I'm peering over the edge of the universe. It's a really nice feeling. Well done! Steve

Hi Megan your composion here is very good right in the thirds ..The horizon off a tad but you can fix that up in Photoshop .. I see you like B&W that cool . You are so young and got a life time to get better as you get out there and do your thing .Love to see young people get into this hobby. Thanks megan for your complements on my work glenn

hi Megan! thank you for your kind comment to my pic Blue sea.
you have asked for comments, so let's go. i looked to all your pictures and all them have potential to look better in my opinion. other people gave some useful advice and maybe you could try different versions for them. the main problem seems to be the excessive paleness, with little contrasts. if you use photoshop this problem can easily be fixed with the contrast tool, or the burn tool for selective areas.
anyway, all comments are a matter of personal taste. i think that the most important thing is your own opinion. if these pictures are good for you, so i suggest you go ahead with them as they are and set your own voice amongst all voices. if otherwise they look bad for you it would be necessary to know exactly what you wished with them and what you didn't achieved but wished to.
i don't know about you practice in using photoshop. if you are a begginer and wish to learn more i am at your disposal to change more detailed ideas through email (lovizol@terra.com.br). i would be glad if i could help you to improve your images along your own taste and not mine. feel free to write and even send your images with detailed description of your ideas and aims. i can try some changes and then explain the steps i did in order to you achieve greater skill in using the PS tools. after learned that you would be able to build your own way up and consciously make your own stylistical choices.
this picture of yours is the best of all in my opinion. very interesting and appealing effect and fine, strong composition, with powerful perspective. i don't think bad the unleveled horizon, it adds more dynamicism to the whole.
best regards!

Hey Megan I promised you I would comment on this photo-it has taken me a while but here it is: Pleased to see you experimenting with special effects - this one works well for this image. Mind your horizon line though. If you are using photoshop you can straighten this out with a slight rotation and cropping.
Keep up the good work - Ms Wolff

I can see you prefer B&W work Megan... You would probably be very good journalist / street photographer as soon as you develop your own, personal style. You are 15, so every option is there to explore for you... You have all the time in the world:)
