This posted one looks more natural to me. The subtle tone variation of the sky makes the difference. I can't be sure of the exact reason, but I think it may be that there is no variation in the turquoise sky in combination with the fact that the combined contrast of the reflected branches/leaves and sky don't seem to match well with the contrast of the non-reflected sky and branches/leaves. Just my subjective perception - something to be especially wary of when painting a sky, I am sure you already know this. Trying to immitate nature is very difficult.

I have generally become more agreeable and less critical with my comments on this site because many people get offended quite easily. When people give me constructive critisism, I try to pay back as best I can. I also like to comment on the positive attributes of a photo - makes me less nit-picky, I hope...

Natural or unnatural, that's often the question, Bryan. Look at the attached one, which I took in the same week not far from this one. Many would say it looks unnatural, but I did no color chage at all.

Thanks anyway for all your open comments. It's a big benefit to get other comments than great, stunning, etc.

Regards, Markus

I know that choosing an artificial sky takes some tallent to make it undetectable, but I really think you chose the wrong tone of blue, Markus. It doesnt quite suite the angle of view and looks unnatural. That is just my subjective opinion. Otherwis, excellent PS work to have got all the white sky selected.

A perfect homage to Elisa and if I may add, to Beethoven. At least this is my association, not just to the name, but also to the photo you created (and not just took.)
Thank you for your very kind comments on my "Inverted wineglass", "Hand" and "Firewings." Your comment on the first of these made us laugh
Best ragards,

I have to confess my complete ignorance regarding history of photography. Thanks for the lesson, Markus

That makes sense. I mistook them for being the same. Markus, People rave about RAW. Unfortunately few times I tried post processing using a raw, results were not that great. My fault of course.

Maybe a misunderstanding. When you said "Vous pouvez changer les initiales CB pour n'importe lesquelles WR ou RD ou... ; je l'ai pris au hasard." I thought you find it risky which name to be find behind initials. Therefore my answer.

Have you noticed, that this is slightly different than the other one. I took two pictures with different ISO setting (200 and 800). with the ISO 800 I tried to overcome the wind that was blowing quite a lot. I never worked with the RAW format so far, but when the time comes I will also try this.

Kind regards, Markus

I couldn't have pulled this off Markus. Great PS work. I like the original but this is very good too. If you have the image in RAW format, I heard people develop the raw file for the sky and the trees seperately and then combine it together with masks. Our Canon has a Capture program where you can work on the raw data.

Unfortunately I havn't seen much of CB. There has been a Cartier Bresson exhibition in Vienna last year, but I missed it. It was before I got interested in photography again.

I have to thank you, Elisa. I earned some knowledge, but I lost some of my illusions. E.g. the illusion that a good picture is created at the time it is taken;)

Kind regards, Markus
