thanks again Petrit. I have the same feeling when I saw them. If you read the comments on that pic you can read Janet's one. Seems that people take them as pet... kind of strange idea.

Well, Jacques, we are talking some years back, but they still have them available for sale in our area as well. They do not sell them in souvenir shops around here, that I am aware, but in pet shops. As kids, we had kept them in a large aquarium with sand. You would feed and water them like any other pet but also provided empty shells and then as they grew they would move into the larger shells. I guess they were a 'pet' and also provide some education. Some teachers had them in classrooms at school also.

you're welcome Janet, and I have to return your thanks. Maybe you can tell all of us... What are you doing with them after you buy it. When we fonud some of them on the beach, we play all day long with them, but at the end of the day, we always put them back to the sea.

Weird indeed, Jacques and I think also somewhat cruel to the poor crabs. Excellent photo all the same. Thank you for your very kind comments on my "Composition in red" and "Billiard room 1." I hope to be posting more of this kind soon. Best regards, Rafi
