Friend Peter, first of all a big THANK YOU for your prompt return mail. I am happy that you did not feel offended with my honest comment. I fully understand what you are telling me. At my age of 70 I did have the same problems with my first digital camera. It seems to work much better since I am using the Canon 10D SLR and at present I am quite happy with the results although at times I do also have problems with focusing automatically. I usually do use manual focusing. Should you need any help, just ask and I will try to do my best. Keep well and have a wonderful weekend. Your friend, Gustav

Friend Gustav,
I'm never offended with your comments. About the ISO 100/200. I have a preset setting at 100 on a manual setting but I shoot several shots with both manual and auto just incase I mess-up. At 60 my eye site is not so good with the LCD screen and the viewfinder. I have to rely a lot on the camera with the focus and some other settings. I don't see the results until I upload into the computer. Several times I've been surprised with critters in my shot that I did not see. As far as the framing, well when I've put in fames I was told they didn't work so I stopped, then I started using this framing to take away some of the lousy background I got from bad photography. It seemed to help, but I guess I got lazy and start using it all the time. I can always put on frames later, because I almost never overwrite my originals.
Again Gustav, I'm never offended by your comments, so keep them coming. I do make note of what you said and thanks for the framing on the other flower...
Your friend, Peter

Hi Peter, this certainly is a abeautiful rose. Very nice, natural colors and a good DOF. I just do not undertand why you do not use an ISO setting of 100 or 200. Do not go to ISO: auto. You do have plenty of light in Texas to take pictures of this kind.... The next thing: I just do not like your dreary looking frames for such a great flower picture. I certainly do not want to offend you in any way with my comment but at the same time it is time that somebody is telling you the truth. Looking forward to hearing from you again. Best regards, Gustav
