Stunning picture, Todd. I love all the versions of this picture. It could not be a bad picture with that beautifull Great Gray in it, as long as you don`t crop the Owl ;-D

Hi Todd,
( Sorry when I did my final save it was at 500X500 and less than 120k as needed to post. If you like send me the original from the camera at full rez and I can redo it for you.
Shane
PS. Glad you liked the suggestions.

No offence taken at all, Shane!
I really appreciate this kind of feedback. That's why I post here. ;^)
I'm having a real problem reproducing what I did for the first shot, in the way of shadow enhancement. I don't have ANY experience with editing, so I usually try the auto enhance. This time I played around with it manually, and now I have no idea how I did it.
I like both suggestions. Could you send me both in full res?
Thanks Shane!

Hi again Todd,
Continuing on my first image suggestion... However I would prefer a crop where you clone out the shadow ( it too distracts ... the eye likes to go to bright and dark spots on the image), and I would crop it so the owl is "entering" the frame, and you use the diagonal of where the owl is perceived to be landing or looking. What do you think ?? Remember these are only meant to be suggestions, so please take no offence.

Hi Todd,
One suggestion would be to simply crop out the fence post such as this image. I've cropped in and cloned out the remaining fence so you preserve the shadow of the owl.

Hi Todd,
Impressive!!!!!
I would agree with Shane on the crop. I think you could crop the post out and you'd lose only a tiny bit of the shadow. It would still show well. I would crop just a bit of the bottom too.
Great timing!!
I completely missed out on the great Great Owl eruption... hopefully another one will happen soon.

Hi Shane,
Thanks for the suggestion. The only reason the fence post is in there is because of his shadow on the ground. I hated to crop any of it. The fence post also conveys the idea that it's a farm field (along with the ugly tracks in the snow).
But hey, I'm always open to suggestions. Please, can you show me what you had in mind?
Todd

Stunning capture Todd. May I suggest cropping out the fence post? I find it detracts from the image a bit. Beautiful action shot.
