This was a practice session, not a game. Since I was literally focusing on him, I never saw the ball after it left his hands. I don't know if he made this one or not.
Nice photo. Do you know if he made the shot? I know how hard it is to get both the ball and player, if you can try to move around under the rim. Then you will get the ball but also the ref and other players who moved into your frame at the shot...very frustrating sport to photograph.
