About This is a rope tied to a boat. I took the shot underwater with a super-wide 20mm lens so the ropes seem to go to infinity.

The light on the rope was supplied by a strobe, and the exposure was set for the water surface.

I normally underexpose the water to give it a nice dark blue look.

Although you can't see it, at the end of the rope in the center of the picture is a 120' long dive boat!

wonderful underwater shot, i enjoy the deep blue coloring and the extreme difference of yellow on the rope... this is probably one of my favorite views, as im surfacing from a dive, or just after duck diving a wave on my surfboard

BRRR! I live in Oregon, and am a Warm Water Wuss Diver. I get way to cold in northern waters, although my friends dive there and say it is wonderful, they have yet to convince me to take the plunge...

check out our local dive club www.oregonscuba.com

Wow great site....you got to come here apparently this island has some of the most interesting and diverse diving in North America. the guy running the dive company lives just next door. Its been going for many years (20yrs+) and is now run by his son. There are even six gill sharks here which is unusual i guess being so far north. Also a few wrecks to check out as well. here is their web site:
