About The lily ponds at Longwood Gardens are full of beautiful, interesting colors and shapes. These buds really caught my eye. I didn't even notice the cloud reflections until I started playing with the image. Please see reposted image below - without the bright framing. Thanks Friends for your comments and advice.

Hello Inder and Jorg - Thank you both for your comments regarding the frame. I am posting a reframed version which I like better and hope you do as well. I appreciate the advice you both offered. Debby

Hi Debby, first of all this is a beautiful scene, very beautifully and sensibly rendered in this photograph, in my opinion. I especially like the deep blue of the water matching with the pale violett petals and the richly green sepals and the green mottled leaves. The colors enhance and underline the richness of the scene and the water texture you render here in a way that one is tempted to think of putting the hand into this velvety, smooth medium and let its coolness run through ones fingers. That being said: in short a great photo, I will come to the frame, where I would caution to overdo it. A frame should in my opinion add to the photo, give the eye a fleeting frame to guide the look into the scene and keep it from leaving it. Here the frame is very strong on the one side (the violet: my suggestion desaturate it somewhat) and on the other even interfering with the photo (the inner frame actually cuts a perfectly sharp and noteworthy leaf apart - my suggestion abandon this part of the frame). Just an opinion!
Regards Jorg and thanks for your friendly comment.

This is a very nice picture. Like the good saturation and the way flowers and leaves have been composed using the angle of view. I think the frame you have given, IMHO, is a bit distracting. I think a plain thin black frame with a wider mask in black/white would have worked better than the current one.

The nice dark background makes the blossoms just pop up. The cloud reflections add such depth. The plants seem growing out of a distant infinity.

Very nice. I like how the eye is indeed guided to below the surface of the water to the stems and soon to be emerging buds. The reflections are a crowning touch. Well seen Debby!
