About On my walk at the track this morning I noticed these berries so colorfully winding their way through the fence, almost looked good enough to eat.

The bursts of colour are nicely superimposed against the regular criss-cross of the branches and fence, well spotted.

I always figure if the birds aren't eating them, then we probably shouldn't either. Thanks for the comment.

Hi Neal! I had to look it up and you're absolutely right! It's either the American or the Oriental Bittersweet (American has ovate leaves, Oriental has round leaves.) You know your stuff!

These really are beautiful, Alison! I love the way they form little clumps imposing their own geometry on the rigid form of the chain-link fence. They've also provided their own great contrast between the red berries and their yellow shells - very enticing!
I read that more black or blue wild berries are edible than red berries, and more red berries are edible than white berries, but there's no hard and fast rule - you just have to know the specific fruit!

Beautiful reds and yellows. This reminds me of a plant I remember from my childhood called Bittersweet. I wonder if this is the same. You captured such rich deep colors here. I love the tangle of branches in the background. Very nice.

Very colorful berries. This image shows natures triumph over man's invasion. Good light and details throughout.
