About This is an Abbey situated Nr the town of Ripon in North Yorkshire. I don't like to detete images regardless of how badly they initially turn out as I find there is always something to be gleaned from them. The original picture was grossly underexposed, which was annoying as I thought I'd done quite well with the composition. This is my first attempt to really go over the top with the features within Photoshop. I have essentially gone silly with the magic wand feature and boosted the levels of all the areas that it highlighted. I then finished by desaturating the image. I now intend to do this with other failed images but not nessessaraly to the extremes to which I've treated this picture.

I like the original and possibly it would be good with just a little adjusting/ brightening of the foreground. However - going over the top - has produced a very original, eye catching quite surreal image, which really seems to make it look as though it was taken many years ago and with a very eerie feel about it

Nice effort to bring out the castle .. but you see the sky breaking down, and the horizon shows the mark of your sky selection .. honestly, i would have left the original, and would have made it even darker just to keep the silhouette ..
