About On the way home from work, saw a beautiful sunset over the mountains..rushed home grabbed my camera and drove to a spot to take a photo..but, by the time I got there the moment had passed. So,I had to take a photo of something :) started taking some of my car but it was very dark, only the moon added light. As I was taking the photos, I would wait for cars to drive by because I thought their lights would be distracting. But, as I looked through the lens I saw that their lights added to the image. So, when the next car passed, I took a photo which resulted in this photo. The brightly lit field behind my car is the result of a passing car's lights. I had to manually focus the camera because it was so dark.

I like the reflection of the moonlight and also how the orange/yellow color is reflected, making it look like a continuous horizon

Travis, thanks for the comment.. there was not a streak of lights from the car because of the angle.. the other cars were not in the image. However, their headlights would light up the area which is why the lighting looks dispersed.... this is the only image that I have of that kind of lighting.. thanks for the comment.

I don't see how those are cars going by but I like it. Usually when cars go by its streaks of red or white or yellow, but this looks like dispersed light so it confuses me. I'd like to see another one of these 'fire' effects.

Thanks for your comment.. I agree that I think the image had great potential..tried hard to manually focus with no light just did not quite pull it off.. have to find a way to focus in extremely low light conditions

Hi Paul,

no light help from the camera itself? hmmh..

pen light would be an option in this case =)

take care,
thilo

Thanks for your comment, I agree about the focus and wish it was better but it was the best I could do manually.. even though the image looks sort of bright, it was actually very dark and almost impossible to focus. I am thinking of using a pen light or something like that to use in those dark situations so that I can focus.... just something that the camera can pick up when there is no light.

Hi Paul,

great special effect, my friend.
this looks like burning hell at the floor. the out-of-focus works very well in this case, although it would be nice to have some sort of focus here.

anyway, good one.

take care,
thilo

Great idea with a unique result. I know the feeling of not having my camera with me when there is an amazing sunset because they are gone in minutes. You got creative and came up with something quite different.

Hi Paul, sometimes things do work out for the best and come at the most unexpected time, as in this nice photo of yours. Nice work and i'm sure at first you weren't expecting it. Thanks for your comment today and i'd be keen to see some of your water photos if you get around to sharing them with us.

Hi Paul; a somewhat abstract or surreal photo as it leaves it to the imagination where the golden glow is coming from, ie I thought at first that it was some kind of sunset glow.

But this is one of those photos that makes the viewer stop and think while also presenting a story of sunset and an evening drive. Very nice. Cheers. Craig
