Hi Eric, Excellent portrait of Simone. Give her my regards... I like the expression, very much captured in a deep conversation or thought. In converging images to B&W, like in my last series, I noticed I could tweak the contrast / brightness quite heavily, using the entire Black to White tonal range. Playing with the levels (not Auto, of course) gives the best result and the deepest tones, without loosing (too much) detail. I think it dramatises the shot a bit more, and remove the "flatness" in the tones. Could also work in this one, IMO. the even background is an excellent choice. Very good one! It fits Simone Perfectly...
Cheers,
Hugo

Howie, Thank you very much. I think I understand what you mean, but I have no doubt she would kick me out within a week if I held a reflector next to her head all day, because this was somewhat of an candid shot;o) Cheers! Eric

pretty lady and nice use of natural light. I would have also used an extra reflector to bounce a little more light into the face.

I like the natural way she holds her hands.
Her eyes are very dark, nearly in danger to look dull. No reflections in her eyes.
Overall contrast is rather pale. There could be some lighter highlights I think. Ever tried to simulate a colour filter when converting to b&w? ;o)
