Incredible night scene. The beautiful gold tones and shining star burst lights give it a mythical old world feel. Fantastic perspective as well. This is a stunning place Antonella ..Christine

Hi Roger,no,for this picture I didn't use any perspective correction. I think I just got lucky, since in others the distortion shows.
The people at the end were so far away that even if they were blurred it wouldn't have shown.
I must thank Paolo who encouraged me to be daring and experience freely especially in night photography at which I was completely new.
Many thanks for your comment, Antonella

Hi Hugo! You wouldn't believe if I told you how I shot this picture....lying on the floor,on the tripod, yes, but with its legs folded )) And since the camera was tilted vertical the viewfinder was almost touching the pavement.
We were far too exhausted even to pull the legs out!
And the starry light you see is not a filter. It's a true street-lamp. All the lights in these night pictures came starry shaped,I don't even know myself why....,maybe the long exposure???
Many thanks for commenting, Antonella

Yes,Richard,it is produced but it's not very popular. I was looking for a third party wideangle that would fit my Nikon D 100 and was given a choice in a camera market between this one and a Tamron of the same focal. I chose the Voigtlander because these lenses I have on older cameras were fantastic and I must say that this one did not deceive me one bit.
Many thanks for commenting, Antonella

These very long exposures under very low light conditions are an interesting expansion of your range, Antonella. You are obviously mastering this technique and using it creatively. This is a particularly fine example. I'm surprised those two people at the end of the alley stood still for you for 15 seconds, though! May I ask, did you use perspective correction? From the low angle, I would have expected much more steeply leaning verticals.

Hi Antonella, Perfect shot... I love the low camera position, did you use a table sized tripod? Very well exposed, and the star filter effect works very well in this image. The almost monochrome effect creates a timeless effect.

I always like the human presence in a photo, as it livens up the atmosphere. Very well captured!

Cheers,

Hugo

Hola Antonella, muy buena foto nocturna. Me encanta el efecto de la luz y ver como la imagen de los edificios se diluye y mezcla con la oscura noche. Esto le confiere "atmósfera" y gran profundidad. Un abrazo, Felipe.

A good technique resulting in an effective image. I like your inclusion of background figures (people) for scale and interest. I'm not familiar with that Voigtlander lens. Is it currently produced?

Buona la prospettiva e le luci.
Potrebbe essere meglio il bilanciamento cromatico
Consiglierei anche una versione BW

As it was the 1rst of May ( important holyday in Italy ) we had to wait until early in the morning in order to take some night photographs. The town was packed with people...you couldn't even move around! We were 4,we had a wonderful dinner and we started shooting after midnight. )) Thanks Saeed!!! Antonella
