I like this series as well Alan. My advice here is to go into Photoshop, adjust the color to Black, it should be on red by default. Then step it up to about +10. Your shot will lose a lot of the grey tones and be more "black and white" as the contrast also increases. Otherwise you might also burn the lighter areas such as his hand. Your compositions in all the scratching series is good.

A Les Paul with a pocket knife? What world is that where we living??? I'm happy that he didn't sign his arm. Just kidding, buddy! Great image! Good catch of the scene. Tight and excellent crop. I'm not sure about the tonal range. Is this just converted to grayscale? If so, it has more potential. Just a suggestion: With 10mm you get a huge DOF, no matter which apperture you use. Step back and zoom. How cool would this picture if the DOF just includes his face and his hands? Take care! Carlheinz
