This photo nails it, the expression, the cigarette, the dress. I only have one problem, and it may not be a problem depending on what you were looking for, but I would have loved to seen the eyes. Maybe a fill flash on a very low power setting, just to get some light on the left side, or maybe some manipulation in photoshop. Regardless this photo is excellent.

What a character, it's just a classic hobo shot as the others have already stated. I'd love to see more portraits of this nature. Ever try to see what some of these would look like in black and white? I think they might surprise you.

This is like the ultimate hobo photo. That's what I think of when I look at this. (a hobo is a term we use in america for homeless poor people that used to ravel around on trains years ago) This was effective photo for me, as this is what I immediately thought of when I saw this image. I think the facial expression did it. Sometimes a photo works without overanalyzing the details.

I love pictures like this one. I don't know if it is something with my computer monitor, but is the image too contrasty? Excelent image. I wonder what the man in the portrait wants to say... ;-)
