This is a great shot and from someone who isn't much into those creatures, he looks so CUTE. I read the comments a bit and was surprised how it went on about the super-glue and needles. You did a great job taking this picture. Everything about it is nice and cheery. Congratulations! Regards, Natta

Great shot!! I would call this one: "How's That?" The frog seems to be asking that question.

So, no super glue... just ice. :)
This photo is a great one. I was disappointed that it was "set up", since I feel wild creatures in nature photos should be captured in their natural state, doing their natural things... which is why nature photography is so difficult. Regardless, the "set up" on this picture is perfect.

In case that last comment is referring to me, I can't get away - my feet have been super glued to the floor and someone's pricking me on the side of the head with a needle! ...please help me....huh?

This truly is a beautiful image. The composition, pose, and lighting would be very difficult to improve upon, if even possible (well, except for the tiny bit of light green in the bottom right corner). :) The original comments on how it was taken were, obviously, a joke, and one that amused me greatly. Of course, I am a bit of a sadist, and enjoy such humor, even if I don't enjoy such REAL actions. However, Steve's method of "cooling" it down a bit is, in fact, a very humane and harmless way of managing such an otherwise uncooperative subject. Though I don't recommend handling wild animals without knowing how to do so without hurting them (and yourself, for that matter), shots taken in this manner are still great shots, even if they're somewhat staged. But, believe me, if Steve hadn't gone through this trouble to help Bill take such a shot, we might not be so enthralled right now with it, because it might never have been captured otherwise, even by the BEST photographers in the world. VERY well done, Bill! Just my two, or eighty cents. :)

I liked the picture, but was a bit afraid to enlarge it due to the comment about the super glue, I agreed with Amber on this one. Stephen, boys will be boys, but whew,,, was glad to hear you were only joking. The colors are awsome, and he is so cute.

OK, I guess I'd better jump in here, since I helped Bill set up the photo. I caught the frog, and kept it for a few days to photograph it. I always return animals like this frog to the original location where I found it after I have photographed it. I did cool this guy down a bit to make him more managable for Bill. No super glue or needles. The super glue story did come from me. Look at an image I'll send in on Blanford's fox for the full story.

Amber, I believe bill was just joking and did not superglue the frog to the leaf.
And for the purposes of clarity no usefilm.com does not support the torture of animal life to facilitate photography.

I could be mistaken... However, I took the comments made by Bill Akata to be a bit of sarcasm. There is no evidence of superglue on the frogs feet, and there is plenty of areas where the frogs foot is partially lifted.
I think the smiley didn't indicate his pleasure of superglueing and pricking frogs, but rather indicated the humorous tone of the comments.
The photograph itself is wonderful, I think I'd have liked it more if the frogs left foot hadn't been cut off (by the way, I mean cut off in a figurative since, cropped, not in the sense that bill physically removed part of the frogs foot to make his photo better :)).

As a wildlife photographer and a lover of the natural world, I find it quite disgusting and disheartening that you super-glued this frog's feet to the leaf and then pricked him with a needle - I find this extremely unprofessional and inhumane. I have been able to achieve great shots without going to these lengths. The smiley face at the end of your comments just shows what your attitude is to your decision. Does usefilm.com endorse this? This is not a true nature shot and it definitely is NOT a priceless shot!
