Excellent composition and B&W tonal range. Both versions of the sand dunes are good but this one is more interesting because of the low clouds.

finissimo and perfect in its composition maybe about the clouds somebody may object their softness in relation the dune/sand structure, but in the context of this landscape still this criticism would be rather pedantic as mentioned above: very weston-like certainly a very great picture

Thanks everyone. I'm having fun shooting out in these dunes and am fortunate to live just a few miles from them.
Paul, I'm very new to Photography so mostly it's all just hit and miss with me but fortunately I am shooting digital so i get the instant feedback. In the dunes i've just been putting the camera on Aperture Priority and setting it to a small aperature like F22 or F29 and then let the camera figure out the shutter speed then I use the exposure compensation to stop down about 1 stop. I hope this helps

Cris, Not sure how I could offer help. It's clear you know of depth of field and sharpness of focus. How do you figure out the correct exposure for a desert photo? I myself never can get the exposure right for these kinds of pics. The composition is very nice as well.
