another from a shoot in the style of mags like fader, flaunt, etc. i want more interesting light, especially flash combined with hot lights. technical suggestions welcome. my goal is not technical perfection but high-impact images.
great angle, great mix of characters, neat spalshes of color..remember that levis commercial when the girl dashes into the men's room and sees a blind guy? she tears off her wig, rips off her clothes, puts on a pair of levis and after scrutinizing the guy to make sure he's really blind she runs out again. Then the real blind guy comes out of the stall, receives his cane back from the first guy and walks out. It's a wonderful commercial and what i recall that makes it work so amazingly well, apart from the "plot" twist, is the raunchy grittiness of the scene, the tones, the textures, etc...you're missing that here and i think that comment is right...mess up the atmosphere a bit more. It's too clean cut, too plastic. But you are definately onto something..keep showing us the way, James..your friend, kat~
I don't know about the lights. But I remember the rule of thumb about more let, less aperature. That said, my real comment is about the scene. If you are going for the punk bar bathroom, everything is too clean. Mess up the floor, throw down some toilet paper. No surface would be left clean from graffiti. Put some fog in the air for the feel of smoke, etc. I wish bathrooms were this clean at shows :)
