thank you very much, marc! yes i'm 18, hehe:). it's true what you said...being poor really does make you more selective about what you choose to put on film. my first month or so of photography i took shots of almost everything i could find...it's a LOT more selective now. i walk around campus sometimes looking for the perfect shot -- i found one, actually, but now it's gone because of some construction work at the university. thanks for your comments all, they do help me.

I think you have a perfect post from Kenneth here. Nothing to add. One of your best pictures in my opinion. I read that you are 18 ? I wish I could have taken pictures like that at the same age ! You also said you lack money for films...? A simple stupid advice on that: save film. It may sound completely silly, but besides saving cash, it will actually also improve your photography, because your eye will become more selective... I never had as many ok shots in a roll as when I was too poor to buy the next roll...:-) It seems there is some good in every misery... Keep up the good work. Best regards.

Great mood. This shot has so much potential. The soft water effect is very cool and the composition works. I agree with the sky crop, although it does take out the white point of the image and dulls it a bit. Also, I'd like to see a little more shadow detail in the rocks. I quickly did a little dodging and burning to see what I'd get.

thankyou all for your very helpful, nice, and constructive comments! i appreciate them a lot. here is an updated picture after a little more work in PS. what do you think now? i didn't add green toning, but i did basically the same thing by turning the blue tones down just a tad. do you think it's too much?
again, thanks for the help:)

very nice tones.
The sky's fine to me...or, you could crop the lighter part out. Cropping it out might add to the feel because it's the brightest part of the image...and it's the lack of highlights that really adds to the "moodiness" ("solitude," perhaps) to the image. So removing the sky makes it even darker.

The moving waves and your water action are excellent here in my opinion. I do not care as much for the sky here...it seems to need something. I like Alexander's idea here too, but the sky is now blown out. What if you added some golden light into that sky?? Hmmmm......or made the entire image black and white?? Still a nice shot though.

Great concept and name, I always like good shots of water movement, it does reflect the mood. However it requires some darkroom work. Black in the bottom of the picture does not do anything for me, you can try and crop it. Then I would make colors little bit brighter, but just a little bit, so it would not affect the mood, and add little bit of greenish tonning. Then, in my opinion, I would take little bit from the light sky to make the proportion right.
