at last a very good one. taken from the bathroom it seems, now your hair are dry or almost. great comp, good work with low and high lights. "hotel roger smith" hmm... not very funky

Lisa, this picture is utterly brilliant in its simple mundaneness (is that a word?). You have taken such a simple scene, shot it beautifully with natural light, and captured a moment in time. This transcends a standard NYC shot. It is more than that. It is a travelogue and statement. Brava.

I've been to NYC just once. I felt like I was inside the machine room of a cargo ship: high level of humidity, oily smell, lots of activity... But your BW photo shows a quiet NYC, almost dead, I can't see a single person on it. It's a Woody Allen like melancholic picture. Nice but frightening.
