a story telling picture for sure..
very creative angle here, the atmosphere is so beautiful, back light is very appropriate and strengthen the gesture and the dimension.
(imho: I prefer to play about 1 - 2 degrees clockwise to align the horizon, but this is still great)

Perhaps there's no meaning of the shoes
may be they were left over there the night before, maybe the owner met with an accident, anything and everything may go as a meaning...
however I feel this sense of unexpectedness/something to be felt and sensed surrounds the pic with an individual essence
