I do like the B&W better. I am blessed with a great film/slide scanner, purchased before my husband died. I probably couldn't afford one now. It is a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400, and does an excellent job of high quality scanning.

You are right Shirley. Here it is converted to black and white.

Here's the original I had to work with. These are pretty decent slide to CD conversions for the money. I have them done at Freddies on their FUJI machine. I think .39 cents per slide. They all come back with a blue tint to them, so I need to do color corrections.
I know that high end slide to CD conversions are 18 to 45 PER SLIDE. If I was selling photos, it would be worth the price to have a high end conversion done.
Anyway, here's what I had to work with. I was trying to pull the details out of the smooth portions of the rock.

Love the long exposure effect. This would probably work even better in B&W since you could eliminate the strong cyan cast.:)

You are so nice to say that. It took a while to make this image look correct. This part of the river does not get a lot of sunlight so you can often get a bluish tint to the water. It's at a narrow spot also and the river is at the bottom of a steep slope so there is a lot of green tint caused by the leaves in the trees.
Black and white film would do good here also.
I was happy with the results of this one too. Thanks again.

Thank you Malules. This is a place I need to return to for more images. It's only 45 minutes away from my place, so I have no excuse.

Thank you Marcos. As a young kid, we went to this isolated river location often to swim at "the" swimming hole.
It had some swift rapids dropping quickly into the pool with some some neat rock features.
One day I decided to go back there to capture a few images. This one was one I liked a lot. More an image for my own eyes, but as you see I like sharing these.
