I prefer it in B/W for my part. It more emotional. I mean, the B/W accentuate the solitude and the desert side. It's more powerful.

Well done Phillip

Wow, this is a different mood altogether. Now it looks lonely and isolated. Much prefer the other one.:)

The black and white brings the tree more into focus as the subject of the photograph, but I have to say I like the colored one better because it says "Summer, Life, Australia!"

Ahh.. as I had guessed, the color version is pretty darn good as well !.. I saw that I had seen it before and commented on it too. At that time, I liked the 50-50 (50 land, 50 sky) style of composition, so now when I look at that from THAT angle, I am a bit confused. :)

...I think I'll still stick to the triangular crop for now and agree to disagree with you ! :)
best,
Avi

Hi Avi

Thanks for taking the time to comment, and offer your opinion.

I have to state that I have a different opinion to you. I spent some time working out the best way to crop this image. :) I feel the way I did it provides a little more perspective to the image. :)

The colour version is in my portfolio....going by your comment, you like it. :)

I like it mate. I have some very similar shots in the Serengeti plains of Africa, I'll show it to you sometime. I think even the color version of this would be pretty neat ! The only suggestion that I have is an inch crop from the bottom, which can create a triangle of the road, leading upto the tree. something like the attachment.

cheers, Avi
