The Greek Orthodox Patriarchade in Istanbul, Turkey, is considered by some as “the first among equals”, out of 28 orthodox centres in the world. The Istanbul patriarchade was moved into its present location, on the shore of the “Golden Horn”, in the year 1622.
The Aghia Yorgi church, where I took the picture during a sunday mess, was built in the classical basilica form in the 18th century. There is no tripod, I increased sharpness, cropped a little and applied b&w.
