During the communist era it was difficult to travel abroad, especially for those who were persecuted as my father was, after the "Prague spring" in 1968. There were not many options in case that Czech wanted to see the sea: Baltic sea (Poland, or Deutsche Demokratische Republic) Black sea (Romania, Bulgaria, Russia) We used to travel to Bulgaria. I still remember that three days spent in the train and beggars in Romania, who appeared suddenly whenever the train stopped and asked for atractive goods (chewing gums, clothes, chocolate).
