. Deeply moved by the movie Curse of the Golden Flower, while shedding some tears at the end, I knew that I had to make a picture that could somehow reflect what was happening in me. Weeks have passed since that resolution and I haven't forgotten my desire to do something about it. Armed with my lensbaby I visited the garden next door. :-)
I transcribed the English translation of the Chinese song and you have it below. Additionally, I will embed the song that moved me so much.
Seat back, relax and enjoy!
Ju Hua Tai by Jay Chou
Your tears Glisten, laced with pain The crescent moon Hangs in the past Pale with sickness.
Cool night, too long Turns to frost Who is on the tower Frozen in despair.
The rain drums lightly On a crimson pane My destiny is written on paper Fluttering in the wind.
Distant dreams Rise like incense Melting into night Is your image.
Chrysanthemums fall Weeping to the ground Traces of your smile On a yellowing scroll. Your heart now empty My thoughts quietly rest The North wind blows Not yet dawn Your shadow clear and close Only companion of my soul On the lake, a couple mirrored.
Blossoms of evening air Beauty undimmed Scatter everywhere A fate hard to swallow.
Sadness, do not cross the river Your Autumn heart will sink Drowning in longing You will not reach the other shore.
Whose hills and rivers Echo with the clamour of hooves? My armour is shredded By the dividing hour.
The sky slowly brightens Your sighs, silk soft Weave a night of sorrow So fragile, so spare.
Chrysanthemums fall Weeping to the ground Traces of your smile On a yellowing scroll. Your heart now empty My thoughts quietly rest The North wind blows Not yet dawn Your shadow clear and close Only companion of my soul On the lake, a couple reflected.
Chrysanthemums sigh In the cold Winter air Traces of your smile In yellowing despair.
Your heart now empty My thoughts quietly rest The North wind blows Not yet dawn Your shadow so close The only companion of my soul On the lake the two of us.

I did see the movie tonight...what an awesome film! It would have been amazing on the big screen. Thank you for letting us know about it.:) A film you might enjoy if you have not seen it is 'A Very Long Engagement'...one of my favorites.:)
I must watch for this movie. I have not heard of it before, but it obviously can touch one's soul. For you to come back to it weeks later and produce this dreamy, beautiful image, transcribe the words and include the music shows it definately became a part of you. I love this image. It compliments the song so well and the colours are wonderful. The best thing is you have combined the visual with the auditory with the emotional. Super work. MAry
Oh, Francisco, this combination of your beautiful photo with the lovely sad song brought me to tears...moved me deeply. Now I shall have to see that film.:)Thank you for sharing this with us.:)
