This is my 1st comment on any forum concerning your chit, chat behind the posts on UF... And I personally find it appalling... This site is supposed to help people become better photographers and I don't see that here...
It sounds more like a bunch of girl’s cat fighting over who is prettier, smarter, or what the law is, regarding the cheerleading team!
I find that "Art" is exactly that, "Art"! Maybe you don't like a guy with a point and shoot, but that's all he has! What is so wrong with that? When I pull out my fancy 70-200mm f/2.8, IS, USM nobody has a problem with that? I shoot many candids without permission and most of us do, but since he doesn't have the equipment you all have it's and issue...
The funny thing is the 2nd critique by Ton Elst was “did you have permission” and Lucas’ answer was “Yes”… You all are so angry you missed it! Regarding the Law, he has not broken any, so let it go!!!
Too much time has been wasted on this matter and you haven't helped a single person to become a better photographer on this site due to your extensive time bickering...
In closing I must ask 1 question? Do any of you have a life? I know, that I pissed all of you off regarding this matter, so I look forward to your anger being misplaced towards me in the future… hehehe
Bring It,
Martin

Lucas, Lucas, Lucas,
Please do not pay any attention to people, that want to tear your work apart, because they don't pay your rent... ;)
They don't like it, because their work can't come close to this "Masterpiece"...
I always get into trouble regarding my candids, but it's well worth it in the end... I never ask permission in the begining, but after they see the awesome results of my work they want a copy and we all live happy ever after.
I don't see the trouble makers on this site critiquing your work in a positive way, so to heck with them!
Although I can't think why you even told anyone this capture was taking without permission? It's nobodys business on this site how you got the shot, but that you got the shot!
You must be doing something right, because your pissing people off... hehehe
Way to go my friend, (20+++++)
Martin

sorry for the late answer, but thanks for your words, you have mentioned quite an important thing...it is so easy to not look at them if you do not like it...this site receives hundreds of new uploads every day...so do, what I do....if I do not like the subject I pass way ...

lucas has caused quite a stir here.
whether or not you like his photos, he has his own idea of what constitutes art/photography, and i respect that. those who dont like his images, are free to not look at them. i dont like this particular one, but some of his others are not bad.

You are a very ignorant man with little consideration for others, unfortunately there are too many people like you in the world otherwise it would be a much nicer place! You should not have mentioned my mother, this has nothing to do with her, I fear that one day your photography and your opinions on women may land you in a lot of trouble. I am sorry if you do not like my photography, others seem to and at least it is in no way offensive. I do not pretend to be an artist I just shoot what I enjoy shooting, however I always make sure I have consent first, implied or otherwise. Thank you

well Pete, that is your opinion... about artistic considerations after seeing your photos, sorry...but our artist opinions are indeed diferent and I also believe that you should point and shoot other things because you have some very bad photos and without any interest...so I will consider to tell to the moderators to remove your work from the site too...because it is indeed poor... about this photo...well, if you look careful you will see that we are sit on the same table...in this case she knows and she likes the photo...so who are you to tell others what to do...go and suggest things to your mother... another thing...about removing my work from this site...I have already told here that moderators could do that whenever they want... king regards...

Lucas this is wrong. It is voyueristic and NOT artistic. There are legal implications here and breach of privacy at the very least. I suggest you stop posting images such as these and consider pointing your camera at more consensual subjects instead. I would certainly not be happy to find pictures of my wife or daughter appearing in one of your lurid shots. If you are not able to respect other peoples privacy then I think the moderators should give serious consideration to removing your works from the site.

"everybody have rights to have an opinion"
I think if you want to shoot 'naughty photos', then there is a simple way to do so. Hire a model, get her signed release, and snap away. You see many photos of beautiful women from photographers who have contracted with a model for that purpose - posted to this very site.
For example, it isn't clear in what you've said in various of these that you've ever had their written permission to shoot 'peeping tom' photos of these women and girls. And if the girl is underage, then it requires her parent's signature. On the other hand, it does put what you've done in a somewhat different light if it is clear that they were all aware, and posing, should you be able to present such model releases. I think people naturally assumes you simply don't have these, and so could not produce them.

well John everybody have rights to have an opinion, mine is simple, if my work causes some problems to somepeople, well I must say that all candids should cause the same...or even worth, all photos include people should cause the same problems because with the powerful zooms that we have in the market you will never know if the photo was made or not with knowldge of the person in it....so the only way I see you could control that is but a written declaration of the model in it...and I do not think this is a simple thing to do... about that discussion...well I am not a donnor...so I only could see the first entry, the launch of that discussion...but I must say to you that that woman have several photos of children on her page and my question is, do the parents know????...are they happy to have the photos of their children in the internet???...well if it was my kid I will not not be bored, the photos look nice indeed, in fact compared to hundreds of photos that she have on her gallery probably are the top ones, because most of her things to me are pure crap...but coming again to the main question, well you will never know...and the rest to me it is not important...I put my photos, and have fun, that the main reason of doing photos to me...not to be worried with what others put in their one gallery ...and the moderators are always free to delete my portfolio whenever they want, they are the "owners" of the place...but what I find more interesting is that we receive everyday in the media images of violence, war, extreme conditions of life and there are people that loose the time they have with discussions of photos of beautiful women...that is fantastic...regards to you.

Lucas;
First let me start by saying I find your work very interesting. Although I would not classify your work as "Up Skirt", you have created quite a stir in the forum; I only mention this because of the conversation you and James were having. Check out: http://www.usefilm.com/Photo_Forum/22/1013340/
I find your work very colorful and eye catching, keep up the good work.

well James, I draw my line, and each one should draw his/her on line, but probably there are photos of candids only with people faces in the internet that are worth to people that a picture up a skirt that nobody knows who it is...I have made some photos of a friend in a cafe, that are quite interesting, after we had a good time seeing them togheter and she does not mind if I use them, but I prefer not to do it...I have draw my line...I show things that I find beautiful and not offensive, and that is a personal question for sure...so I am sure that are candids much more offensive to a woman them a upskirt shot without face...and if they are made with consent you can have really lovely photos....at least for me.

yes, I understand your point however I think there are issues relating to consent, context and subject matter. Are you saying it's ok to take pictures up women's skirts without them knowing/consenting?

well James, I have notice some complaints about some of my photos, usually not directly to me... the thing here it is the understand of "inappropriate", my photos are all taken in public places, the same happens to most of candids shots in the internet...like some of yours... about that Virginia shooter I do not listen to anything...
