Hi Rob,
Talking about perfect timing! The shadows are extremely important in this shot, and it all worked out perfectly here. Well done! I think perhaps a bit more subtlety in postprocessing might give the photo a more natural feel, even though I must admit I'm a sucker for highly saturated and vibrant tones, too....;)
Cheers,
Hugo

Beautiful light on these mountains and they really pop out against that dark stark sky. Excellent.

Thanks a lot Lisa & everyone!
Lisa...you're right. It's a rock that when the shot is shrunk down you can't tell. I probably should have cloned it out on the small version so that it wasn't distracting. I'm very glad you like the shot!!! thanks!!

Excellent light and shadows. I like how the East & West Mitten Buttes are lite up and the shadow being cast at the base of the mitten on the right.
I do see a speck of white, which I'm not sure if that is what Bill is referring to as the "dead pixel", the the butte on the left has quite a few of these white specks which I think might just be the light reflecting off of the rock at the base of the butte.
The color of the blue sky looks amazing.

Rob -- Nice feel of depth to the image. The heavy shawdows really played to your advantage, and you used them well in your composition. The dark, brooding sky is a nice bonus, too. I see an unusually bright sparkle just inside the shawdow line as it angles away from the 1st mitten. Not sure that it looks like a dead pixel, but it is slightly distracting. May consider cloning over it.
Great image! Cheers, -Mike.

I think this is just awesome, I was there last April but had to leave before the sun got low like this. I think I have to go back again soon after seeing what can be done by waiting for the light to change. A 7++ Rob, very well done, Bill
