Greetings Christine,

First of all ... Congrats on the 'Donor Image of the Day' award.

This is an extremely photographed National Landmark very hard to capture in a new fresh perspective that is for sure.

While you have most definitely utilized the 'Rule of Thirds' with just isolating one of the towers of this super structure made from 'Cold Sweat & Steel' I feel you should have backed off a bit to allow a little more 'Free Space' for matting and framing purposes.

The grain therefore imho is too pronounced with that high quality telephoto lens. Per the attached courtesy rework if you don't mind is my feeling and insight into how I would 'smoothly' present this image with a larger frame to make the tower 'appear' just a bit smaller but still a powerful and moody piece of architecture.

Counter-thoughts on my critique are greatly appreciated by you or anyone else of course and even on my own version per this link where the 'Soup' was rolling in also like always:

A bit grainy... looks as if ya took a wide shot then cropped and this is what was left. I like it. I really do... I like the white/black aspect. I love the wee composition what shows all. Yet it looks like a part of a larger image... That does not mean it is wrong/bad... it is a grand pic... just a bit grainy.

Big fan of B/W and was excellent choice for this comp.....also like the grain and would have believed it was shot with film had i not noticed you shoot digital....i still shoot film and would love to have the Nikon D200 as my first DSLR,but alas a dream away..LOL...
