Wonderful composition and a spectacular shot. Really! It must have been a calm day indeed if you got this on a 5sec exp! - The setting sun was certainly your friend on this day!Awesome rock texture and the .6ND worked very well for you. Nicely Done . . .

Hi Ian, outstanding saturation and a very well handled photo. Thanks too for posting the technical data, very good to know - a 5s exposure already softens the water like this?
Spectacular photo.
Cheers,
Hugo

I wouldn't say that the rocks really detract from the image.
However, given the scene and possible compositions, it may have been feasible to eliminate them on scene?
Also, I'm just now noticing rhe fine texture on the larger rock face to the right. It seems that the ND grad may have plugged up the shadwos abit, but the high contrast seems to work here,
Chris

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments. I agree with you Chris. I hadn't really noticed initially as my eyes went so quickly towards the jumble of smooth rocks and on to the colourful section but when your eyes relax and take in the whole image the black nobble extreme left does indeed catch your attention can could become slightly irritating, an easy crop of course but perhaps best done before I uploaded it.

Excellent landscape & about Ian.
All aspects are really well done. The only distracting element to me is the half cut-off rock in the water on the left hand side.
The polariser worked very well to allow the rock shapes to be seen into the water.
The sky is quite amazing, with great cloud texture and color.
The glow to the rocks really makes the photo for me.
Cheers, Chris
