I can see where you're coming from. After looking at it, I see how it's cluttered and there isn't really a focal point. I took this picture a couple years ago now so I can't tell you what I was thinking composition wise.

I decided the bottom part was pointless and cropped some of the left hand side off. You can see more of the expression on the lady's face now.

I think this could be an interesting image but (in my opinion) needed something more than what is presented here to get more impact from it. It feels to me like a generic people shot but could have been much more interesting (please understand that this is just my opinion) if you had used a more unique perspective. Perhaps a lower POV with a table object in the lower foreground . . . or a shot along the lines made by the table edges. I can see strong horizontal lines and the hint of a diagonal pathway . . . but think a strong diagonal pathway image would have made for a much better composition. Anyway . . . that's my 2 cents worth.
