Stunning series of this great bird, impeccable capture of it in flight. I see these every day overhead at home, maybe someday I'll get a shot 'approaching' your quality. One day as I was stealthily photographing a hummingbird, I heard a thump behind me and turned to see one of these had grabbed a robin. Before I could focus, it flew off with it's catch.
(thank you for comment on my "oversight" picture,I have an improved version I plan to replace it with next)

Hi Marcus,
This photo combines both the agility and motion, as well as an interesting and more unusual background. The hues match those of the bird beautifully, whithout removing the necessary separation between the two. And that's what I like about it. Good composition and as usual, and expert display of camera control...

You know what Ron said? Well, me too! How can you critique somebody who has his worst work as your "I hope I can someday do this" goal? Tell me you're not using this 400mm handheld. If not, how on earth can you track the bird?? Wonderful work my friend . . . wonderful work. I've seen better (if you must have a critique) . . . . . but only from you!

Super shot Marcus. It is really tough for this crowd to critique your work when we would love to get something even remotely as good. It is not the best shot that you have taken of this bird. I seem to recall one where the wingspread was more streached out and her talons were more distinct. You will have to work on getting better poses from your subjects.:) Amazing work, Regards Ron.

Very stunning photo in details.
I like sun reflection in it's eye.
Actually there is nothing to critisize.
I'm really very new in photography. One thing I can say is that tail is little in behind of focus area.
Background colors are also excellent.

Amazing picture. Well composed and the sharpness seems really good. The rear wing looks kinda grainy though (maybe its my screen), but I cant se why. With a 30D and ISO 320 it should not look grainy.
