Cape Creek Bridge was constructed in 1932. Engineer, Conde McCullough choose architecture elements of antiquity—especially Roman aqueducts such as the Pont du Gard, near Nîmes, France—when he designed this span, with its two-tiered viaducts. The yawning central arch stands 104 feet above the creek below. The setting as you drive across is spectacular, but the best place to see the bridge is from nearby Devils Elbow State Park.
Hi Ron, it was literally pouring buckets of rain when I shot this which I think makes the photo appear grainy, but it works well in bw. Besides I find with bw images I tend to look more at the shadows and patterns than I would a color photo. Thank you Ron for stopping by and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.
Very nicely done. The black and white is perfect for this image. The eye is drawn to and remains drawn to the structure and not the surrounding elements. Keep up the good work.
