Nice shot John, I like the idea of the crab being there, but its a little difficult to make out.
Would be great to get up close to the crab and use the coast line as the backdrop.
Its a really nice part coastline,If this is a local spot it would be worth trying to do some nice sunsets/sunrises.

John, I like this wide angle photo concept and think yours is well done. I rather think the choice of foreground object is the most important because it is the first thing looked at. So I recommend care in picking shape and size of the foreground rock and ensuring it is still adequately in focus. There are obviously many variations of foreground possible here!

John, I like the composition with the rocks in the foreground, however I think it needs something else as a subject as well, perhaps in the background. Maybe a rising sun or something early in the morning. That would also create a mood with warmer colours instead of harsh shadows. Shame the crab didn't feature in a bigger role. I didn't know it was there and went looking for it. Good depth of field, nice crop but can be better I reckon. Hope it helps!
