*tearfully accepts the cuddly Womble and clutches it to her heaving, tear-streaked bosom; feels small furry hand on heaving, tear-streaked bosom; upends Womble, reads tag: "Hi! I'm Wicked Wayne, and I can make you feel better."*

*eyes Wayne, slow smile* ...indeed...
Thank you, Paul. I think this may be exactly what I need.

*exits with Wayne; heard offstage* ...so Wayne, do you like strawberry cosmopolitans?

Addendum:
Bit got lopped off:

(Paul shakes a cuddly Womble and assumes a stoic posture in a feeble yet misguided attempt to help Jude out of a crisis that he was responsible for in the first place...)

Jude!

This was indeed a truly sad moment, the culmination of several sad chapters, compounded by tubs of overwhelming hurdles, and stackable container systems of distress.

Never mind though. It will be alright in the end.

Cheer up, chuck!
Here's a cuddly Womble to make you laugh.

Yeah!

Paul

*ignores the tears coursing down her cheeks, struggles to regain a proper sense of decorum*

I know his pain, Paul! I feel it! Right here.
And here.
And a little bit over there.

*lower lip quivers; reaches for a box of kleenex and sobs into it...the box, not the kleenex*

I'm so sorry...
I can't speak...
