kathy, many thanks for the comments and suggestions. yes, i do agree that the blue dot leads the eyes away from the whole picture thats why i have taken it out on my final print/ file. i decided to upload this unedited one to see what others think of that blue dot, if it is a lens flare.

rachel, many thanks for the comments. i got the technique from a book i was reading. the clarity i owe it to my canon 50mm f1.8 lens which i really love and believe that every canon user amateur should have

I love this tree, Cernan, and the tones are great! The blue flare is interesting, although I think I would have removed it to enhance the shot. I have a hard time looking at the whole image, because my eyes are drawn to that blue. You have a very nice portfolio! Thank you for your comment! Much appreciated! Kathy

Moody, gloomy and intriguing, Cernan. I think you're right in assuming the blue orb is due to lens flare. Eventhough I would consider removing it, I don't think it affects this shot much. Very good shot!
Cheers,
Hugo

kanwarpreet, many thanks once more for visiting my portfolio and your comments. i have an earlier shot of this tree about two years ago almost same winter time, and i must say that it still looks exactly the same...only difference is i have set it in a different angle and used a much longer shutter time to get in more light...no blue orb though.ill try again in a few more months and get another different angle.thanks

Something mystical indeed!! ;) Hehehe! There is something mystical about the tree itself. Perfect capture btw, and very nice tones. I just love how you put the sky behind the tree.. the sky looks great. Btw, do go back someday to check on if the tree's still there.. or was just your imagination. ;) Would have been lovely been there.. i have this strange relation with trees & places like these. Very relaxing. Best of luck.
Regards. kp

Bukinsky, many thanks for the comments, yes, im puzzled as well as to why it is blue in colour and appeared right in the middle of the tree...still open minded that it might be something mystical hahhaa

jeroen, many thanks for the comments...yes I do agree that it was lucky to get that effect unintentionally, unless it was really something mystical like a real orb hahaha. but yes, right in the middle of the tree which i did not expect, normally all the intended flare i have tried is not like this.. and definitely not blue color
